Q: Can I interview the caregiver before I begin home healthcare services?
Clients may interview prospective caregivers before services are initiated. Your satisfaction is our commitment to you, therefore, if our client requires a different caregiver, another one will be provided.

Q: Do I really need a patient care services?
Disability, aging or injury can be difficult to manage. Our dedicated and highly-trained patient care managers assist clients in determining the time, resources and expertise required to handle your loved ones physical, emotional, psychological and medical needs.

Q: Do supervisors oversee care to ensure quality service?
All of our caregivers go through a rigorous hiring process and are all licensed and/or certified. Our caregivers are supervised by our highly-trained, professional staff through continuous communication and supervisory visits.

Q: Does Five Star Home Care have liability insurance coverage?
Five Star Home Care carries many different types of insurance, including Professional Liability, Worker’s Compensation, and Commercial General Liability.

Q: Does Five Star Home Care screen employees?
All of our employees are screened through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Florida Abuse Registry. We also require personal and professional references. Additionally, our staff must pass an oral and written exam, and attend a detailed orientation. All of our staff are licensed/certified in their respective fields of practice.

Q: Does insurance cover patient care management services?
Insurance does not cover professional care management services. We accept private payments, billed in hourly increments, for our services.

Q: How do I know what type of home healthcare I need?
Five Star Home Care healthcare professional conducts an initial assessment to determine the type of home healthcare services you will require. If you are a Medicare recipient, we will consult with your physician to determine the type of home health services you will need for your specific medical condition.

Q: How long will Medicare pay for my home healthcare services?
Medicare is designed to take care of acute, short-term medical conditions. Medicare will not cover chronic or long term illnesses. Medicare will pay for skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language pathology. As long as a patient continues their therapy at home, requires nursing care, remains homebound and their physician determines Medicare home healthcare services is still necessary, homecare will continue.

Q: How often will a caregiver visit?
If you are a Medicare recipient, the frequency of your visits will be determined by your physician. For Hourly services, the frequency of your visits is based on your needs, and will be determined at your initial assessment.

Q: What will it cost to have home healthcare services?
Medicare recipients have home healthcare services reimbursed by Medicare. The costs for Hourly home healthcare are determined by the services selected.

Q: Who is responsible for paying for the caregiver?
All caregivers are paid by Five Star Homecare, satisfying any taxes and obligations to the government.
